Building momentum over the past few years, FYF has officially established itself as a major player in the Southern California festival scene. And with yesterday’s lineup announcement, LA’s cup has truly runneth over. Returning to the L.A. Sports Arena and Exposition Park (with some expected logistical upgrades – fingers crossed), FYF Fest 2015 boasts one of the more intriguing line-ups we’ve seen this season. From R&B and hip-hop to post-punk and electro-pop, there’s something on this list for everyone. And you don’t even have to camp or miss a day of work.
On Day One, Frank Ocean will FINALLY be returning to the stage alongside LIVE faves such as Run The Jewels, Purity Ring, Chet Faker, Kaytranda and the wildcard Jesus and Mary Chain. While Day Two is headed up by LA’s resident brooding vegan, Morrissey – we predict the real star of that day will be D’Angelo and the Vanguard. Their recent release, Black Messiah, was nothing short of brilliant and it will make for one of the funkiest, sexiest sets of the weekend. Also notable on Day Two are Death Grips (who are evidently not breaking up?), the Aussie golden-boy Flume and my main gals FKA Twigs and Solange.
