Phish finished off their West Coast portion of their summer tour by making a stop in Chicago at the newest venue in the area, Toyota Park. I felt there in spirit as I knew a ton of people that were going to be at the show, but so far I’ve heard some mixed reviews. Here’s the setlist:
Phish @ Toyota Park, Bridgeview, IL 8/11/09
I: Kill Devil Falls, Sample in a Jar, Ocelot, Paul and Silas, Windy City, The Curtain With, Train Song, Gumbo, Heavy Things, Time Turns Elastic
II: Backwards Down The Number Line> Carini, Gotta Jibboo, Theme from the Bottom, Wilson, Also Sprach Zarathustra> Chalkdust Torture, Harry Hood, The Squirming Coil
E: Loving Cup
If you were there or have already heard the recording, how does it measure up compared to the rest of the tour so far? You know how I felt about the Red Rocks shows and it’s definitely what I’m going to write about on the seven shows I saw in a final wrapup post with some photos. At any rate, I liked the setlist on paper except for the four new songs in a first set. That’s a lot to saddle an audience with and the band may need to think a bit more about pacing in the rest of their shows on the tour.
