For The People delivers a raw, defiant blast of political punk energy—stream the digital release now, with vinyl dropping October 10.
Dropkick Murphys have just released the digital edition of their timely and passionate new album For The People via the band’s Dummy Luck Music / Play It Again Sam label. The vinyl and CD release will follow October 10 and will include 5 bonus tracks. Additional singles and videos will also be released in the coming weeks.
Purchase/stream For The People:
As the band’s 13th studio album, For The People shows courage and confidence, speaking up against the injustices happening in the United States, and doing so with the strength and power that harkens back to Dropkick Murphys‘ earliest punk rock roots. For The People is more than a title. It’s a heartfelt stance, a declaration of who this band is – and who they’ve always been. Whether writing about politics, family, friends or simply “life” on For The People, the stories run deep, the memories push hard, and the joy remains infectious.
To drive the message home further, For The People is accompanied by an album cover created by renowned social/political artist Shepard Fairey‘s design firm Studio Number One and depicts a black rose, symbolizing change, renewal, new beginnings, courage, confidence, strength and power.

The album is led by the first single, “Who’ll Stand With Us?,” which empowers listeners to take action. It’s a call for unity, a return to sanity, and a look at what – and who – is really dividing us, joined by a powerful video that depicts the disturbing reality of people disappearing in the United States. MeidasTouch Network, the U.S.-based pro-democracy news podcast (and the #1 podcast in the U.S. and Canada), took note, shared the video, and has shown ongoing support for the band’s efforts to stand up against injustice.
Notably, Ken Casey was also interviewed by Jeffrey Goldberg, Editor In Chief of The Atlantic, for a profile on Dropkick Murphys and For The People. As Goldberg observed, “Fury runs like a red streak through For The People.”

Here’s a sample of additional Dropkick Murphys‘ recent media support:
“…their new album For the People…is a powerful and invigorating call to action designed to incite awareness and reclaim the power of the people.” –Liza Lentini, SPIN.com
“…the Celtic punk legends are in reeling, anthem-filled form, bolstered by their trademark gang vocal hooks. It’s classic Murphys – a band with nothing left to prove, but much still to offer. That opener is simply the best song they’ve released in over a decade, performed with the type of hard driven, working-class conviction that gave them life in the first place.” –Steve Beebee, Kerrang!
“Boston’s Dropkick Murphys have been making extremely fun and fired-up Celtic punk for nearly 30 years, and they aren’t slowing down anytime soon.” –Tom Breihan, Stereogum
“The Dropkick Murphys have been together for nearly three decades, and they’re no strangers to taking a stand.”
–Simón Rios, WBUR (NPR Boston)
“Dropkick Murphys’ terrific punk scorcher, ‘Who’ll Stand With Us?’ [is] unabashedly political … with bulls-eye skill, tackles trickle-down economics and authoritarianism.” –Jackson Maxwell, Guitar World
“The searing punk tune [‘Who’ll Stand With Us?’] features prominent bagpipes and commanding vocals that declare, ‘We’ve been robbed of our freedom.’ It’s a direct rallying cry, echoing singer Ken Casey’s recent sentiment that America is embroiled in ‘a class war.'” –Jon Hadusek, Consequence
“For The People has an old school punk bite…There are songs that dig into nostalgia and youthful joy on For the People. But it’s a pointed record with a pointed title and plenty of pointed messages: the raging rock of anti-social media screed ‘Fiending for the Lies,’ the Celtic stomp of working class unity anthem ‘Bury the Bones’.” –Jed Gottlieb, Boston Herald
“It should be no surprise, at least for those who have listened to the Celtic punk chaos unleashed by Dropkick Murphys for the past 30 years, that they have been there every step of the way when it comes to standing with marginalized demographics and communities.” –Jason Greenough, Vanyaland

About Dropkick Murphys:
Dropkick Murphys proudly remain Boston’s rock ‘n’ roll underdogs turned champions. Since 1996, the boys have created the kind of music that’s meant to be chanted at last call, in packed arenas, and during the fourth quarter, third period, or ninth inning of a comeback rally. Their celebrated discography includes four consecutive Billboard top 10 album debuts (Turn Up That Dial, 11 Short Stories Of Pain & Glory, Signed and Sealed in Blood, Going Out In Style), along with 2005’s Certified-Gold album The Warrior’s Code featuring the double platinum classic “I’m Shipping Up To Boston.” Whether you caught a legendary gig at The Rathskeller (The Rat) under Kenmore Square, found the band by taking the T to Newbury Comics to cop Do Or Die in ’98, discovered them in Martin Scorsese’s Academy Award winning The Departed, or saw ’em throw down at Coachella (or one of hundreds of other festivals), you’ve become a part of their extended family. Dropkick Murphys’ music has generated half-a-billion streams, they’ve quietly moved 8 million-plus units worldwide and the band has sold out gigs on multiple continents.
Dropkick Murphys’ official charity, The Claddagh Fund, has raised over $20 million to support non-profit organizations that are focused on children, veterans and addiction recovery. In 2020, the band was one of the first to embrace streaming performances, starting with their Streaming Up From Boston St. Patrick’s Day virtual performance. It was followed by their landmark Streaming Outta Fenway livestream, which drew more than 5.9 million viewers and held the #3 spot on Pollstar‘s “Top 2020 Live Streams” chart. Dropkick Murphys St. Patrick’s Day Stream 2021…Still Locked Down, was #1 on Pollstar‘s Livestream chart for the week ending March 22, 2021, logging over 1 million views. Dropkick Murphys returned in 2022 with their first-ever all-acoustic album, This Machine Still Kills Fascists (Dummy Luck Music / Play It Again Sam), and seated theater tour. This Machine Still Kills Fascists–and their follow-up album Okemah Rising–breathe musical life into mostly unpublished lyrics by the legendary Woody Guthrie, curated for the band by Woody’s daughter Nora Guthrie. Dropkick Murphys’ new album For The People rises to its moment: an expression of humanity at a time of relentless dehumanization, a promise of hope in an era fueled by fear-mongering, a declaration of solidarity in an age of disunion, a defiant rebuttal to the charlatans and demagogues who seek to divide us for their own power and profit.
