Smithfield continues to showcase the heartfelt storytelling and signature harmonies that have defined their journey with the release of “Drunk Love You,” a powerful preview of their upcoming album Country With Heart, Part 2. Blending classic Country influences with a modern emotional perspective, the duo delivers a moving reflection on love, connection – and the moments that leave a lasting impact. As anticipation builds for the new project and their upcoming international tour, Smithfield’s latest release highlights why they remain a standout force in Country music.

According to a press release from Smithfield’s team, their upcoming album Country With Heart, Part 2 is set to arrive September 11.

As for the new single, “Drunk Love You” is a soaring, harmony-driven Country ballad – a song that blurs the line between intoxication and true love, revealing that the strongest feeling isn’t found in a bottle, it’s the one that remains long after the buzz wears off.

Penned by Jennifer FielderTrey Smith, and Adam Wood, and produced by Trey Smith, “Drunk Love You” cleverly reimagines the classic Country drinking song through a deeply romantic lens. Building from intimate verses into an anthemic chorus, the track reveals that what first feels like “drunk love” is, in fact, something much deeper, and impossible to shake.

“It ain’t some cheap tequila,

Trying to get you in my bed,

Ain’t nothing in a bottle,

That hits me like you do,

‘Cause the stone cold sober truth,

Is I don’t just drunk love you.”

“‘Drunk Love You’ is a mid-tempo power ballad about an unexpected barroom connection that turns into something much deeper,” explains Smithfield. “It’s not about alcohol. it’s about the intoxicating rush of meeting someone who makes your heart race and your world blur in the best way. Sometimes the strongest buzz comes from the right person.”

Premiering alongside the single today, the “Drunk Love You music video captures the song’s intimate, nostalgic atmosphere through cinematic performance-driven visuals that complement its emotional core. Rather than telling a separate story, the video keeps the focus on the music, inviting listeners to fully immerse themselves in the song’s heartfelt message.

About Smithfield

Rooted in stunning harmonies and heartfelt songwriting, Smithfield is a modern Country duo inspired by one of the genre’s classic traditions: the male-female duet. Smithfield formed in 2011, drawing not only upon the family history that bound Jennifer and Trey together, but also the musical influences that set them apart. From the start, Smithfield’s music was a unique mix of the contemporary and the classic, blurring the boundaries between Country, Pop, and Rock. There’s no lead singer in Smithfield. No main songwriter, either. Instead, Jennifer and Trey split those duties equally, writing harmony-filled songs that explore love, loss, and life from both sides of a relationship. The two moved to Nashville in 2012, eager to carry the torch for Country music’s rich legacy of male-female duets into the 21st century. It was there — in the same city that inspired classic collaborations between Dolly Parton and Porter Wagoner; Tim McGraw and Faith Hill; and Loretta Lynn and Conway Twitty — that Smithfield fine-tuned their own brand of platonic chemistry. Songs like “Hey Whiskey” and “We’ll Figure It Out” rewarded the independent duo with major-label-sized success, including multiple appearances at the Grand Ole Opry, airplay on satellite radio, 150 million digital streams, acclaim from Rolling Stone, and shows with fellow Country artists like Brothers Osborne, Scotty McCreery, Morgan Wallen, Kane Brown, Sara Evans, Josh Turner, Dustin Lynch, and Old Dominion.
