Hailed as the “future of jazz” is a hell of a title to live up to, but Kamasi Washington showed on Sunday why he is deserving of the title. The saxophonist is in the midst of his North American tour, in support of his third studio album Heaven and Earth released back in June. Washington is redefining the jazz genre with his blend of funk, soul and hip-hop along with LMB favorite Thundercat, who are considered the figure heads ushering in the nationwide jazz renaissance.
