Trey Anastasio kicked off his ambitious run dubbed The Beacon Jams this evening, an eight-week affair with the Phish frontman playing ringmaster to an empty Beacon Theatre in New York City and broadcasting the shows live via Twitch for his fans to watch for FREE at home.
Following the initial lockdown during the COVID-19 pandemic, Trey initially said that the livestream thing likely wasn’t going to be something he pursued, but once he got in touch with the MSG team and they gave him carte blanche to do what he does best, it seemed like he warmed up to the idea.
The show started shortly after 8pm over on his Twitch channel.
