One of the most highly anticipated albums of the year has come earlier than expected. Dillon Francis’s Money Sucks Friends Rule album is now available to stream and IT IS THE FIRE. Dillon Francis has always been known as a multi-genre DJ and producer. Basically a guy who does, says, and produces whatever type of music he feels like, and he was out to prove it with his long awaited first full-length LP.
He covers nearly every end of the electronic spectrum using pop, moombahton, electro-house, bounce, and more slathered with his signature lo-fi, grimey, yet summery (somehow?) vibe. He brought some friends with him onto it as well like EDM compadres Major Lazer, TJR, DJ Snake and Martin Garrix as well as some lesser expected ones like Twista, Brendon Urie (of Panic! at the Disco), + more.
This album is banger after banger with no fillers. My favorite track: “What’s that Spell?” (featuring TJR), the combination of Melbourne’s epic Bounce sound with Francis’s bread and butter moombahton… I really hope more moombounce comes out of this massive, massive track. And I promise the whole album won’t let you stop jumping around your living room like a fool until its over, at least I really hope other people had that same reaction like I did.
