WOAH. Jazz fans just got handed one of the tours of the year no doubt.
Herbie Hancock will be teaming up for a tour with newcomer-turned-legend-already Kamasi Washington for a set of shows beginning on the East Coast in Virginia and winding their way West to finish up at Berkeley’s Greek Theatre.
We’re expecting plenty more news out of these two this year, as NPR alludes to some of the rumors we’ve seen out there as well.
“Hancock and Washington also both appeared on You’re Dead!, the 2014 album by producer Flying Lotus. And there have been reliable reports that Hancock’s next album-in-progress will feature Washington (along with Martin, Flying Lotus and rapper Kendrick Lamar).”
Yoooooo Kendrick on a Herbie Hancock album?! Dang, can’t wait to see what comes of that.
