My Trey Review Coming Soon

Last night was my first Trey Anastasio solo show ever. I want to do a full write-up on the full night of music, as there are many highlights and many lowlights that need to be mentioned. All I can say now is that I KNOW EXACTLY HOW ACE COWBOY FELT. Keep the discussion alive, and expect a review from me in the very near future (like, tonight)…

  1. Man, that second set looks like it has monster potential…plus, the acoustic mini-set looked fun as hell.

Looks like a great opening — Drifting and Dark and Down — and then four kinda slow, downer songs before Night Speaks.

Well, I don’t want the LMB to turn into a more polished, legit PT, so let’s keep the reviews somewhat benign!

  3. Keep in mind, I’m definitely no Trey-hater either. But, I do have many words planned on this show. It was really amazing in a lot of respects, but a lot of things deserved to be called out and talked about. This is a paradigm shift for a lot of people, and I think it’s good to get the discussion flowing…

  5. Show was like other Trey shows average, but
Chris Kuroda created magic with his light show. Funning watchin him jump up and down. but what was the deal with him getting choked up and saying ‘that was real weird I just had déjà vu during that last song’ Heard that Clear channel has a five year contract to put up that stage. great venue, loved it. did anyone take photos?

  7. Ben – I’ve got some pictures, but they’re a bit far from the stage and somewhat blurry (see the pic in the post above). We’ll post them to Flikr and Justin will have a link in his “official” review. I also tried to take a few pictures of the skyline, but it was too dark and they didn’t really do the view any justice. I agree though that this is a sweet venue. I’m looking forward to going back there. Such amazing views of navy pier, the skyline and that giant spaceship that used to be a football stadium.
