Hagar Watch Begins
Over at Blabbermouth, Sammy Hagar gives some background into his live shows and how they’re akin to the Dead and Phish shows of years past…
Q: In recent years, your live shows have taken on a life of their own and become events ala shows by the GRATEFUL DEAD and PHISH.
Sammy Hagar: I think I’ve grown into that and I don’t know how or why. I’ve never been influenced by THE DEAD or PHISH or JIMMY BUFFETT or those people that do the same thing. But I just fell into it myself. I’ve been friends with the guys in THE DEAD and have jammed with them two or three times.
Dude, who’s got my B&P of the famous Hagar/Dead jam sessions? Is this for real?
i also was at the atlanta show, mr. cabo wabo did loose lucy. and i think the show was the best. great time great people.

Apparently, Sammy has discovered that there isn’t just one way to rock.
And by rock, I mean suck.

I saw The Dead on 07/26/2003 in Atlanta @ Hifi Buys and Sammy Hagar came out for the encore to play on Johnny B. Goode. It was the single most shocking musical moment of my life. Pretty good though

Mickey Hart and possibly Bill Kreutzman play on Sammy’s CD Marching To Mars. I heard a Rockline interview on tha radio with Sammy right before the CD came out, and he had Mickey with him in the studio and they played some of the tracks off the CD.
I think we would all be surprised by some of the odd musical friendships that don’t really make the press.

Yes. There are posters for this event at my local coffee shop (Snoopy) It took place in NoCal. Forgot the name, I have no interest in hearing it.
