UPDATE: Some Dates Announced!
The following dates and venues are now confirmed:
September 8 at Atlanta’s Gwinnett Arena
September 10 at Sunrise, Florida’s Office Depot Center
September 11 at Tampa’s St. Petersburg Times Forum
September 13 at The Woodlands, Texas’ C.W. Mitchell Pavilion
September 14 at Austin’s Frank Erwin Center
September 15 at Dallas’ Smirnoff Center
Although dates have not been announced yet, it is now official that the Foo Fighters and Weezer will be going on tour together starting in early September. So far, they are still holding out on announcing any dates, venues or ticket prices. What we do know is that the tour will make stops in Atlanta; Sunrise, Florida; Tampa, Florida; Houston; Austin, Texas; Dallas; San Diego; Phoenix; Denver; Minneapolis; Chicago; Champaign, Illinois; Grand Rapids, Michigan; Detroit; Cleveland; Columbus, Ohio; Baltimore; Worcester, Massachusetts; New York; Philadelphia; Fresno, California; Seattle and Portland, Oregon.
I have to mention that I am psyched to see that Chicago is on this list. I have been waiting for the Foo Fighters to come back this way for a very long time and the fact that Weezer is on the bill makes it even sweeter.
More cities and other details are expected to be announced in the near future so stay tuned!
there’s nothing worse than trying to see a great band at an oversold show. three words come to mind: HOUSE OF BLUES. i’m holding out hope that the chicago gig will be at some place decent (and by decent, i mean not the HOB).
and there’s still a chance for a bay area gig…more cities are going to be announced in the very near future.

Last saw the Foos at Slim’s in SF for a pre-tour show – went over to the show right after the last SF Giants win in WS 2002 (the 16-4 blowout over the Angels of Los Anaheim).
The show ROCKED BIG TIME, but was WAY too crowded (but whaddaya expect at Slim’s, where they oversell every show and have the worst club layout in the Bay Area).
Too bad they aren’t doing a Shoreline/Concord/Oakland/SanJose gig on the tour. Dare I drive to Fresno? :-)
Yangety!

HORSE TEETH INDEED
Aren’t the Foo Fighters the exact opposite of a jam band? Hard driving guitar with simple yet sometimes profound while always extremely direct lyrics? No musical stream of consciousness here.
And either way Dave Grohl is really cute. Even despite his horsey horse teeth. And let’s face it, that’s all that really matters.

Please DON’T say to me, “The Foo Fighters and Weezer are Jambands?”
These guys are definitely NOT Jambands. But their live shows rule. And that is what it’s all about my friends.
