Newport Folk Festival closed out July this year at the seaside location that fans know and love and brought three days of the best in American music to Newport, Rhode Island. It was a particularly impressive year on the lineup front, and the special unannounced guests like Dolly Parton and Kermit the Frog really grabbed headlines early after the weekend finished up.
But all the music in between and everything else you’d see coming out of this festival — the words, the photos, the music — was collectively bundled as a pure joy, an overwhelmingly positive emotion, and a palpable spirit of collaboration, celebration and overall, festival-based jubilee. In other words…our festival happy place.
Our friend Jim Brock was on hand to shoot all three days of the festival and brought back a big photo gallery of highlights from each day.
