Electric Apricot Update: Full Title Revealed

I’ve tried to keep up on this story as it develops, and I have to give it up to Les Claypool for releasing the right dribbles of information at the right time. In this article discussing his recent DVD release, 5 Gallons of Diesel, some more Electric Apricot info surfaces…

Meanwhile, Claypool has written, acted in and directed his first feature film. The music mockumentary, Electric Apricot: Quest for Festeroo, spoofs the jam-band scene that Claypool helped to create and features cameo appearances by many of the genre’s biggest names. The film finds Claypool portraying Lap “Lapdog” Miklovich, the drummer for the fictional jam band Electric Apricot. It is being submitted to the Sundance Festival and a theatrical release (along with a soundtrack album) is planned for next year. [read more]

  1. Hey, uh. I just bought my ticket to an apparent live performance by the Electric Apricot which seems to relate to the time and place of the 2006 Sundance Film Festival. I’ve never been so happy to live in Utah. Not a lot of detail on exactly what this event is, but the tickets are available if you look around a bit.
