Alisan Porter Releases New Single “Race To Nowhere” Exploring Burnout and Self-Discovery
Alisan Porter has a new single out “Race To Nowhere” – a thoughtful reflection on the stress of always having to be moving and the silent burnout that often accompanies it. The song addresses how these tendencies of work and emotional over-extension can become daily life patterns in motherhood, relationships and our very sense of self. The new song also signals the continued direction of her “Perimenpop” era: an era of truthful, emotionally raw songwriting about healing and reclaiming oneself.
A press release from Alisan Porter’s management announced that “Race to Nowhere” is available now on all streaming platforms.
The track offers a raw and reflective look at the pressure of constantly striving for more while losing sight of yourself in the process.
Reflecting on the inspiration behind the song, Porter shares:
“‘Race To Nowhere’ came from a really honest moment where I realized how easy it is to get caught in cycles that feel productive but don’t actually lead anywhere. That constant push to do more, be more, give more — especially in motherhood — where you can lose yourself in the rhythm of taking care of everything and everyone. I started to see how that same pattern shows up everywhere: in relationships, in old habits, in the versions of ourselves we keep chasing because we think we’re supposed to. This song is me recognizing that loop and making a different choice. It’s about stepping off the ride, letting go of the need to keep running, and realizing you don’t have to win a race that leads nowhere.”
“Race To Nowhere” is the latest preview of Porter’s forthcoming project due out later this year and continues introducing what she calls her “Perimenopop” era — soulful, raw, witty, and rooted in the beautifully chaotic realities of womanhood, healing, motherhood, and reinvention.

Recorded live in Studio A at Chaplin Recording Studios, the album embraces raw live musicianship and features legendary players including Leland Sklar and David Levita. Porter describes the record as a deeply personal body of work, with each song capturing a different emotional experience while speaking to anyone working toward reclaiming themselves and building a stronger foundation for the future.
