Sam Cohen’s Yellowbirds will release their sophomore album, Songs From the Vanished Frontier next month (which we’re very much looking forward to) on Royal Potato Family Records, and yesterday the band linked to a BreakThru Radio session of new songs including “Julian”, “Young Men of Promise”, and “Mean Maybe.” Cohen and the group which also features Josh Kaufman, Brian Kantor, and Annie Nero discussed the album’s cover and the Kurt Vonnegut quote which inspired it’s title.
“Americans… are forever searching for love in forms it never takes, in places it can never be. It must have something to do with the vanished frontier.” ― Kurt Vonnegut, Cat’s Cradle
Pre-order information will be available soon with NPR Music set to premiere a new Yellowbirds video in the coming weeks. Stay tuned for that.
