You wouldn’t immediately expect Aussie psych-rockers Tame Impala to take a liking to Outkast B-Sides, but the band proved us wrong recently with a cover of Andre 3000’s The Love Below burner “Prototype” on Triple J’s “Like A Version” program. A band like Outkast borders on untouchable but Tame Impala keeps things straightforward here with a smoltering groove-funk take on Three Stacks’ deeper, softer side cut from the classic album that is now nearing its ten year anniversary.
