After organically building a national fanbase over the past seven years of heavy touring, major festival appearances and three full-length records, Nashville’s Moon Taxi made their network television debut last night, playing “Running Wild” on The Late Show with David Letterman. On a personal note, I’ve been lucky enough to see these guys since the first days of the band, when they were playing little tiny Music City joints like The End and the old Windows on the Cumberland so it’s been extremely cool and a tad surreal seeing them (a) appear in a big Sunday night slot at NOLA’s Voodoo Experience last weekend; and (b) on national television shaking hands with David Letterman within the same ten day span this month. Proud of these guys and if you haven’t checked them out yet, listen to their new record Mountains Beaches Cities, be sure and give it a listen, it’s a keeper.
