Happy Monday, folks. I had a blast watching the final set of Bonnaroo 2009 last night, thanks to the once-again trusty phishtube channel on USTREAM. It was amazing quality for most of the show, so it was no surprise to me to hear Trey start bantering a bit about childhood heroes and then hear him introduce Bruce Springsteen to the stage. I heard it live when everyone else did. And I love every second of what I heard, especially when The Boss called Page “mr. keyboard man” or some s*** like that. Man that was funny.
Towards the end of the first set Anastasio paused to introduce a surprise guest: Bruce Springsteen, the previous night’s headliner. Anastasio introduced the Jersey legend as “my boyhood hero.” Springsteen fronted Phish for three songs, “Mustang Sally,” “Bobby Jean” and “Glory Days,” and as Anastasio and Bruce traded licks Springsteen held his own pretty well against the jam-guitar god. Fans were ecstatic, arguing over the implications of the event.

Hidden Track got a video up and the setlist from the show right after it ended. Billboard wrote some stuff up, too. I’m still a little bummed my Snoop Dogg sit-in prediction didn’t turn true, to be honest.
