Trey Lewis Releases Gritty Single “Without Saying A Word” About Unspoken Goodbyes
Trey Lewis’ latest single, “Without Saying a Word,” explores the sensation of farewelling someone in silence. Co-written with Kyle Clark and Matt McKinney, the track conveys the puzzlement and wonder that accompanies an abrupt end to a bond. It is a follow-up to his smash hit “2 Inches,” which further elevated Lewis’ unique fusion of narrative and emotion.
According to a press release from Trey Lewis’ management, “Without Saying a Word” is out March 13th, 2026.
The song taps into the blurry, late-night magic of a chance connection. It track plays like the kind of last-call barroom anthem that starts downtown and ends with unanswered questions by sunrise. The new song features Lewis’ signature mix of sharp storytelling and gritty charm as he captures the curiosity and disbelief when goodbyes happen without explanation.
Listen to “Without Saying A Word”:
“I wrote ‘Without Saying A Word’ a few years ago with my good friends Matt McKinney and Kyle Clark,” recalls Lewis. “We didn’t go into that writing session with a title in mind but we felt like we wanted to create something relatable to the situationship side of relationships. It’s a song we’ve always loved and after recording it a few times over the years, it finally felt like the right moment to share it.”
Known for his unfiltered, tongue-in-cheek songwriting and playful swagger, “Without Saying A Word” follows his latest hit “2 Inches.” Hailed by Country Central as a “toe-tapping and stomach-cramping comedy croon” that “bounces like a summer Alan Jackson cut,” Lewis showcases his comedic superpower and “witty charm” (Country Swag), cementing his status as “one of country music’s most unabashed voices” (Entertainment Focus). With “2 Inches,” Lewis once again proves country music could use more bold, fearless storytellers who know how to have a good time without taking themselves too seriously.
With a pair of homegrown hits and plenty more in the tank, Lewis has emerged as the straight-talking, salt-of-the-earth hero country music fans crave. Known for breaking the genre’s unspoken rules, the Birmingham, Alabama native has spent the last 12 years honing a gritty blend of contemporary country and Southern rock, turning his call-it-like-I-see-it attitude into songs. Lewis first broke through in 2020 with his PLATINUM-certified viral hit “Dicked Down In Dallas,” an unapologetic cheating anthem that climbed to No. 1 on iTunes, amassed over 500 million streams and launched him as a nationwide force. Keeping his foot on the gas, the rising star maintains a stacked tour schedule while preparing more new music to come this year as he continues to super serve his fans.
