Immediately following Summer Camp 2006, there was news that this festival was going to disappear following petitions to get this festival to move elsewhere. No more Chillicothe, they say. Too many friggin’ drug problems in too short of period of time…
Soon after that, we were pleased to see that they got their s*** together and did what’s best for the locals — they decided to keep the festival at Three Sisters Park for years to come.
I’ve attended this festival personally two years in a row and I’ve had tremendous fun on both occasions. I’d suggest planning your Memorial Day weekend around this if you have the wherewithal. We’ll try to have updates right here on Live Music Blog, so check back for that and let us know if you’ll be going.

I already bought my tickets for 2k8, i plan on bringing alot of “stuff” in with me. anyone have any suggestions as to how to get it in???

you might want to get there early for a spot in the woods. The camping in the woods is a smaller portion of the campgrounds and you’ll want the shade if it’s anything like last year cuz’ the music was not the only thing that was hot. it was a capital S scorcher.

I have been to 10klf, Harvest fest ,Bonnaroo, and this is the year I am trying out summer camp! One of my favorite bands from my hometown (Public Property) is playing and I would totally recommend checking them out if you dig some reggae/hip hop and getting your groove on!

giving up on bonnaroo, this is the first year i can’t go. this is the first year, however, i will be attending summer camp and i’m super pumped, i’ve heard such great things. any words of advice?

Yeah Alex, I truly loved both years that I’ve spent at this festival and I hope to go back in 2007. Not sure if that’s ultimately going to happen again but hey, I’m planning on it in the short term…

I’ve been there every year so far. The first year was really intimate, because after moe. was finished playing on the main stage, they came out in the campground and played a set. This was before they had late night shows and when the camping was only in the woods.
Since then, even though the intimate feeling is long gone, Summer Campe hasn’t lost a single bit of it’s appeal to get me coming back each and every year! What I really love to watch is just how large it’s gotten since it’s first year of attendance of
