DAY THREE @ Outside Lands 2014
Jonathan Wilson brought ‘the Jerry tone’ and teased “Playing in the Band”
I started my day three with this set and was remarkably pleased with that decision; it was the perfect vibe for the Sunday afternoon.
Woods carried the mood into the afternoon
Lucius was up next and kept the trend doing
Great 1-2-3 of a lineup on Sutro Stage to start the day.
Flume crushed the Twin Peaks stage
One of the bigger crowds I’ve seen over there; he absolutely commanded attention. Really impressive set.
Spoon rocked the main stage next
A bunch of new stuff from They Want My Soul interspersed with the old stuff made for an obvious festival set win with that main stage crowd; notes from the next song would draw a huge reaction from the crowd. Definitely a strong showing.
Flaming Lips got really weird (duh)
Yep, pretty weird.
Cut Copy brought the dance party to the other side of the park
First time catching these guys and they did not disappoint in the slightest.
Gold Panda > Tiesto > Killers playing Credence ended the weekend for me
As I strolled out of the park, I was remarkably content with the music I had seen that night. Gold Panda was a treat and suffered through a set rife with hardware malfunctions, but he still made it through pretty unscathed all things considered. I caught a few minutes of Tiesto but decided to find my way out, and I walked out to the sounds of The Killers playing Creedence Clearwater Revival’s classic, “Bad Moon Rising”.
