Los Angeles-based indie rock band Local Natives, almost seemed to be pulling a premature April Fools joke on March 30 when they took the stage at the Boston House of Blues right at 8:00 pm, opening their set with “You and I” and “Breakers” off their newest album Hummingbird. The show was sold out but seemed to be about half full (depending on how you look at it) when the Natives took the stage. I guess Timeliness Is Next to Godliness as the saying goes.
I just got into this band recently and their live performance was something completely different. The music was much more alive and vibrant in the live setting. Moreover, based off their body language alone, the band is still genuinely enjoying playing the new material as well. All in all, the crowd was super responsive and enjoyed the hell out of Local Natives.
