My friend Victoria got to see the Local Natives show at Rickshaw Stop last week, which was the first of a two-night, sold-out run here in San Francisco by the band. They’re killing it hard at the moment and we expect huge things out of this band in the future, but in the meantime we’ll enjoy seeing them play tiny clubs that require some press list finagling to get in. I don’t expect them to play any type of small club next time they roll through down, though. The band is playing Bonnaroo on Thursday night (That Tent, 7pm) and will head to Europe from there before returning for Pitchfork Fest in July. I highly, highly suggest you see their set if you’ll be at either festival, because they’ll be big after that and you’ll need some indie cred to say you saw them at the tiny club first. Oh, and they’ll also blow your mind live. More on that up next…
