Joe Russo’s Almost Dead recently finished up a little jaunt out west with a set of West Coast shows that got crowds in both Los Angeles and San Francisco grooving on those old Grateful Dead classics recreated through the alchemy of music that Russo and Friends puts out night in, night out. I’ve still never officially seen a full show by these guys, but crowds undeniably come away blown away at pretty much every single show. An impressive feat for any band based on the music of the Dead, even by normal jamband standards.
Our friend Jim Brock caught the first night of the LA shows and brought back this full gallery below. Scroll down to check out the shots and don’t miss the fact that this band is coming back hard in 2019. With shows around New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival being a lock already for me, I’ll have plenty of other chances to catch them should the JRAD bug get me good. –Editor
