Willie Nelson recently had to cancel a few shows due to breathing issues, but thankfully he’s been on the mend and back on stage performing. And it sounds like he’s taken to a newly healthy approach with the recent chat with the local San Antonio station, KSAT.
Midway through a sold out two night stand at the Majestic Theater here, country music icon Willie Nelson said that in spite of recent breathing related health issues, he has no plans to give up touring.
When pressed about how he was feeling lately, he said “I have abused my lungs quite a bit in the past, so breathing is a little more difficult these days and I have to be careful.” Further, he said “I don’t smoke anymore – take better care of myself” which could just mean he’s switched to edibles. 😂
That said, this is all great news. We want Willie around for as long as possible and anything he can do to keep his health in tact is a great idea. And he left the interview with “I’m lucky to be here” so we’ll keep our trust in Shotgun Willie in his sage old years.
