Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles performed the classic hit “Stop Draggin’ My Heart Around” live at the 2019 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony being held tonight.
You know the classic as it was written by Tom Petty and was famously worked into a duet on the insistence that Nicks really wanted Petty to write a song for her once he started blowing up. Sure enough, once Petty got the sense that he couldn’t just give it up outright, they decided to turn it into a duet.
Tonight Harry Styles got his chance to honor Tom Petty with Stevie Nicks proclaiming “This one’s for Tom…” before the song began.
Watch it below…
Stevie Nicks and Harry Styles backstage. Stevie is charming, funny, smart, not into witchcraft (she wants us to know) and kind of adorably long-winded. Stevie did just say Harry Styles was in N Sync. We reminded her it was One Direction. #rockhall #3rockhall #rockhall2019 @wkyc pic.twitter.com/Q9PRCrhqJJ
