We’re big fans of Ernest Greene (aka Washed Out) around these parts, and we’re excited to see all the news flowing our way from his studio. We’ve gotten a few new tracks lately, and now we have confirmation that those tracks will be part of a visual album called Mister Mellow, due out on Stones Throw on June 30th.
And with that will come a whole new tour design, which sounds amazing. This time around he “incorporated Microsoft Kinect technology and album visuals to create a fully immersive experience that continually transforms based on band members’ movements on stage so that no two shows are alike” which sounds super innovative. We’ve seen a few people dabble with onstage body suit mapping, but this is definitely a fun new addition to the live arsenal.
Check out a preview of what that’ll look like in this video below:
Washed Out will also be curating the lineup for and headlining at the Gorilla vs Bear Festival, set to take place in Dallas, TX on August 12th.
