Umphrey’s McGee began a two-night run at New York City’s Beacon Theatre last night, the first of three shows in the city. The closing show of the run at Brooklyn Bowl tonight will be webcast live for FREE.
For the first night of the run, the band took their shot at honoring the passing of Rush drummer Neil Peart by covering the band’s “Anthem” to close the first set, welcoming Kanika Moore for vocals. I’d say they nailed it based on the clips I saw. Perfect choice for these guys (and gal) to tackle.
For night two, the band covered “Limelight” from Rush to start the second set with drummer Kris Myers handling lead vocals.
Here’s the setlists from the run and some fan-shot videos from the shows.
