Tedeschi Trucks Band just finished up an absolutely stunning performance as part of their headlining set at LOCKN’ 2019! The band had two full sets planned, and came out with a fantastic set one filled with the hits that Derek Trucks and Susan Tedeschi deliver night after night. But with set two planned with Phish frontman Trey Anastasio joining, we knew something special could happen. But tonight reached a next level previously unheard of.
As set two started, immediately the Tedeschi Trucks Band socials said “surprise, we brought Doyle Bramhall II as well and they launched into a Derek and the Dominos classic, “I Looked Away”.
Then Trey stepped up for vocals on “Bell Bottom Blues” and suddenly everyone knew what was up, as they also flashed the album art on the webcast — the second set would be a run-through of Layla and Other Assorted Love Songs.
As you can see below, it happened. And it was absolutely spectacular. Scroll down to see full video from the set as well as a great set of fan recorded videos.
