The Daft Punk rumor mill (of a much/pure-speculated appearance on Austin’s Capitol steps tonight) has gone beyond fever pitch this week and at this point it still likes it is only going to remain just that: buzz and rumors. At the very least, we can rejoice in the proliferation of social snark that this chatter has unleashed. See below. Either way, the timing of Daft Punk’s campaign has been effective and the rivers of enthusiasm for the big return have runneth over. For the time being, we just sit patiently and await ‘the (or ‘an) announcement’ (like Lebron’s Decision, only not completely lame) that should come soon given all the marketing hype.

…and no signs of anything at the Capitol yet
Nothing close to resembling a stage set-up at the Capitol building for those of you still convinced Daft Punk is playing there tonight #SXSW
