Phish is in Atlanta, Georgia at Aaron’s Amphitheatre @ Lakewood! This will mark the ninth performance at the venue, and the first show there since 2003. Follow along with @LiveMusicBlog for the setlist and tweets as they roll in from Couch Tour. Looks like an old school start from the get-go!
Phish @ Aarons Amphitheatre @ Lakewood, Atlanta, GA 8/25/12
Set I: Cars Trucks Buses, Wolfman’s Brother, Runaway Jim, Ya Mar, Alaska, My Soul, Wilson, Maze, Roses Are Free > Backwards Down the Number Line > Character Zero
Set II: Kill Devil Falls > Golden Age > Free > Light > Wading in the Velvet Sea > Chalkdust Torture -> What’s the Use? > Joy > Run Like An Antelope
Encore: A Day in the Life
The show is available for download from LivePhish.com. Tweets and some notes on the show after the jump.
Notes from the Sideline:
“Roses Are Free” did not contain a jam. “Kill Devil Falls” contained a spirited jam to start off the second set before transitioning into “Golden Age.” This version of the TV On The Radio cover veered quickly from its roots. Page McConnell anchors an infectious groove that the entire band, especially Trey, latches onto and carries into “Free.” This is the first time “Light” has been played since the instant classic last Sunday in San Francisco. “Light” was good but didn’t get off the improv ground before the first breather of the second frame in “Wading in the Velvet Sea.” This was the 400th “Chalkdust Torture” and veered into a brief but awesome Type II jam that should be heard before a smooth segue into “What’s the Use?” Info from @SecretCabDriver: “What’s The Use?” debuted at this same Lakewood venue, 7/4/1999 and “A Day in the Life” has encored twenty shows in Phish’s history.
Pro Tip: If you have the LivePhish app ($3.99) you can stream the most recent show through your phone.
Phish plays the Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Charlotte, NC tomorrow. Sighting of the last “Icculus” and way back in 1999 a Derek Trucks sit in on slide guitar.

Oddly, there may be nine years between tonight's show & band's last Lakewood visit but both first sets featured CTB and Wolfman's #geekery
