Hide yo kids, hide yo wife… because RTJ2 is coming. If you’re still unconvinced about Run The Jewels, their sophomore album is shaping up to be solid scientific proof that Killer Mike and El-P’s collaboration is the razor-sharp revival that modern hip-hop needs. “Close Your Eyes” is the third heat rock released from the upcoming album — with Zack de la Rocha featured, no less — and it does nothing but solidify my expectations. Searing lyrics accuse, accost and instigate on top of an innovative, aggressive beat. Result? A legendary track that is utterly unf***withable. This album is going to massive.

If you haven’t been doing your homework, check out the other RTJ2 tracks we’ve heard: the sizzling, relentless “Oh My Darling Don’t Cry” and “Blockbuster Night Part 1”, which is one of my favorite hip-hop tracks of the year without question.
And if you REALLY haven’t been doing your homework and have no clue who Run The Jewels is, change that immediately by listening to their game-changing debut album and getting ready for their upcoming tour. Thank us later because you have a lot of listening to do.
