It’s June 1st and we’re less than two weeks away from the Phish Summer Tour opener in Chicago at Toyota Park. My mail-order tickets have already shipped and should be arriving at my doorstep any minute now, but I’m bummed to report that I can’t go to Chicago even though I had requested two tickets. While most people are rightly of the opinion that the Toyota Park show is going to be a complete crapfest, I have no doubt that the band could come out wowing everybody with a reckless abandon that we didn’t see in 2009’s somewhat reserved and slow-building return-to-form. To that end, nothing would rock harder than a “Jennifer Dances” tour opener.
Have you received your mailorders yet?
In old related news, I had my hopes way too high for another festival at the Polo Fields in Indio later this year. It doesn’t look like it’s going to happen at the moment, and all rumors seem to be leading towards a Vegas run that would follow the Austin City Limits appearance. I’ll be booking a hotel pronto for that once we get a bit more confirmation from that front.
And if you haven’t already bought tickets for the band’s headlining performance on Friday, October 8th at ACL Music Festival, you missed your chance. Tickets for Friday sold-out today.
