For those of you that haven’t seen it yet, the Phish frontman Trey Anastasio documentary Between Me and My Mind has been added as a free movie to stream via YouTube.
Driven by a constant need to create, Phish frontman Trey Anastasio takes on new projects, including some of his most personal music to date as well as Phish’s ambitious New Year’s Eve show at Madison Square Garden.
The documentary moves from Trey in NYC preparing for their Baker’s Dozen run at Madison Square Garden in 2017 to the Ghosts of the Forest sessions and background. The whole thing wraps up with a clip of Phish rehearsing Kasvot Växt songs, which wouldn’t appear until Halloween 2018.
The film debuted at the Tribeca Film Festival back in 2019 and was shown before a special TAB performance at The Beacon Theatre. The doc also appeared a few other times before a theatrical release and then finally the digital drop.
I enjoyed it on my first watch, but I liked it even more on the second.
