A while back, Glide Magazine posted this unbelievably good Perpetual Groove show that really got me more interested in the band. Personally, I wasn’t quick to start researching Perpetual Groove simply because of their name–it just screams jamband. Not that it matters, but you know what I mean.
I have both of their releases, All This Everything and Sweet Oblivious Antidote, and I really enjoy both of them. I have a lot of respect for what they’re trying to do, but I also can’t really pick up on the energy that this band exudes because I haven’t seen them live yet. I think this show does a decent job of showing the side of Perpetual Groove that everyone should at least give a second listen to. The jam in Robot Waltz is pure energy alone…
