A brand new music and arts festival is making it’s way to Las Vegas. According to the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Life is Beautiful, a two-day festival will debut in the Fall of 2013 in downtown Las Vegas, NV. The official website has already gone live. The festival organizers who include Another Planet (OSL, Treasure Island) and MAKTUB Marketing, promise “arena-size acts” in the same category as Pearl Jam, Radiohead, Phish, and Neil Young, all past headliners at OSL based in San Francisco. According to Joey Vanas, Director of MAKTUB Marketing, “it’s far easier to make this happen here than other cities, thanks to cooperation between government and business. They’re not trying to throw up blockades and hit you for more money every time you turn around.” Vanas also mentions that Las Vegans have wanted something like this ever since the Vegoose festival ended. Vegoose lasted for three years (2005-2007) at Sam Boyd Stadium, 20 minutes from where L.I.B will be held in the more populated downtown area. Expect ticket info and initial lineup announcements in late Spring 2013. Stay tuned to LMB as we’ll be offering full coverage of the event. [Life is Beautiful, LVRJ]
