The ridiculously prolific DJ parachuted into the festival, following the U.S Navy’s parachuting team, the Leap Frogs. Diplo went immediately from his landing to the stage, where he performed a full set for the festival-goers.
The festival took place just before the 144th Preakness Stakes horse races at Pimlico Race Course.
Diplo has recently been making headlines for his involvement in the country music scene, from his cameo in the Lil Nas music video for “Old Town Road” to his remix of the Billy Ray Cyrus version of the song to his recent announcement of a country music project of his own. The project will be released under the moniker “Thomas Wesley,” the name itself being a shorter version of his given name, Thomas Wesley Pentz, Jr.
It’s been a busy year for Diplo who has not only released a new EP, Europa, but also collaborated with Sia and Labyrinth on their debut album, LSD.
