With the post-New Years Eve brain fog lifting and the overdue winter chill blanketing the city, it’s time to start turning our attention to all that 2012 has in store. Before Carnival season really heats up in February, right off the bat in the new year, visits to the city by old favorites (B.B. King and Willie Nelson), up-and-comers (Alabama Shakes, Cass McCombs and STRFKR) and the familiar local faces (Soul Rebels Brass Band record release party and an end-of-the-month appearance of psychedelic jazz outfit NESLORT) highlight a month of music in the Crescent City.
