Dead & Company finished up a two night run at the Gorge Amphitheatre up in Washington with a heavy set of hits spread out over a two-night run, so much so that many fans are happy they made the trip to see this set of tunes together. The Gorge is a journey and these fans got the jackpot of song selections throughout.
What started out a little chilly, no major surprise given how early these shows fell in the season. I wouldn’t ever guess on early June as the the time of the year for a full festival vibe, but by the end of the run the band and the fans were hot and digging the delivery. First night highlights include the first ever “It Must Have Been the Roses” by Dead & Company, plus a second set “Dark Star” sandwich.
For night two, the band busted out a huge set of songs for the long show including my fave “Throwing Stones” with a “Lady > Terrapin” first set closer, not a bad choice for the sunset slots. Set two featured a Bob Dylan cover with “A Hard Rain’s A-Gonna Fall” and a “One More Saturday Night” one-two punch to close the second set before sending people on their way with “Touch of Grey.”
Here are the setlists from both shows…
