After catching last Friday’s smokin’ Brooklyn Bowl show, I’m now back on a solid Brothers Past kick and couldn’t pass up this week’s news. The band has announced a new set of spring tour dates, adding onto their previously-announced Midwestern tour in February, along with a bunch of 2012 festival slots (including the Aura Music Festival, The Rock and Roll Resort, the Mantrabash, and Camp Barefoot….uber heady).
They’ve also officially announced a new double album — called Everything Must Go 0111 — which will drop on March 27 and is an extension of the Everything Must Go series they’ve been releasing via Bandcamp over the past year or so. The EMG series albums have typically featured an older studio track along with a full soundboard recording of a BP show for $5.
Speaking of soundboard audio, the band also just put up a nice recording of last week’s show at Brookyln Bowl for streaming & download at their Digital Downlow store on Bandcamp. I’ve been digging into this one a bit and I strongly recommend it for anyone that generally digs improv-based electronic music…lots of dark & dirty grooves. It’s really nice to hear this band locking in and playing some consistently great live shows.
