Bahamas is making his way around North America later this year beginning on August 28th in Richmond, VA. He will tour through the Northeast, South and Midwest before moving on to Canada.
Alfie Jurvanen, known under the alias Bahamas, is a Canadian singer-songwriter known for his incredible vocals and guitar skills as well as his association with acts such as The Lumineers, Jack Johnson and Feist. For the upcoming tour, he starts the first three gigs as support for Nathaniel Rateliff & the Night Sweats. After that his openers include Madison Cunningham, Sam Weber, and Langhorne Slim.
The tour will feature songs from his LP, Sad Hunk which he released last year. The album fuses many genres, from roots to funk to folk. According to AllMusic, “there’s a melancholy vibe to many of the songs as Jurvanen closes in on his forties and struggles to find the creative inspiration that seemed so effortless in his younger days.” Before that he released Earthtones, another critical and commercial success.
The tour will run into next year, ending on January 18th in Fredericton. US cities include Pittsburgh, Boston, New York, Washington D.C., St. Louis and Chicago. You can get tickets here via Ticketmaster.
