There’s a new festival announced today called THING set for Historic Fort Worden in Port Townsend, Washington over the weekend of August 24-25, 2019. Sasquatch founder Adam Zacks is behind the event.
It was only teased as “A new thing. A fun thing. An arts thing. August 24 & 25. More soon…” and today’s lineup makes it clear this is going to be incredible. Jeff Tweedy of Wilco will be there, as will the Violent Femmes, De La Soul, Khruangbin, Kurt Vile & the Violators, Calexico and Iron & Wine, and Parquet Courts (among many others) will all be there as well.
Some famous podcasts are going to be there, too, like Macaulay Culkin‘s The Bunny Ears Podcast.
A new thing. A fun thing. An arts thing. A fresh multidisciplinary event for music and arts enthusiasts located at historic Fort Worden in scenic Port Townsend, WA. Derived from the medieval term “Ting” meaning “an assembly of free people to reduce feuds and avoid social disorder.” THING will feature three primary stages including a decommissioned zeppelin hangar (McCurdy Pavilion), the charming and intimate art-deco Wheeler Theatre, and the Parade Grounds overlooking Puget Sound. Pack an open mind and positive attitude for a weekend of eclectic programming in an epic natural setting.
Check out the full lineup below and head over to the festival website for ticketing info. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 9am. Check it!
