Well, folks, here it is — the “Lawn Boy” you’ve already heard about. The one that will now rival Tahoe Tweezer in Phish discussions for years to come.
When we knew that Night Four of The Baker’s Dozen run would be “jam-filled”, I’ll be honest, I really didn’t think the band would go that literal with that interpretation. I was expecting a cover of Tom Petty‘s “Jamming Me” or maybe even a cover by the new-wave band The Jam. Not a jammed out “Sample in the Jar” to start the first set, and certainly nothing close to expecting Page to grab a keytar and start playing the riffs to “Lawn Boy” on the synth before the band moved back into their spots and let loose for 25 more minutes.
This is peak Phish. The reason why people chase this band. And if there’s any doubt in your mind whether you like this band or not, the video above should give you 30 minutes to meditate on it.
