Combining the boisterous beats of Hot Chip (UK), the effervescent indie pop of Passion Pit (US), and the rousing, outlandish show that is sure to unfold during Omar Souleyman’s (Syria) opening set should make for an interesting evening at the Bowl featuring artists from three different continents. For a chance to win a pair of tickets to the show, please leave a comment below telling us your favorite show you’ve seen in 2012. A winner will be selected and notified by Thursday, September 6th.

jack white’s pop up show at san francisco’s outsidelands music fest. random in your face pop up in the woods! amaze balls
Best show I’ve seen this year so far has been The Tallest Man on Earth at the Wiltern. So intimate and beautiful! But hopefully Hot Chip takes the cake this year ;)
King Khan at the Echoplex! Hell yeah
Sigur Ros at Hollywood Forever Cemetery. A show whose effervescent beauty almost can’t be described with words. It was a gift.
liza minelli at the hollywood bowl because she was hilarious and TOO iconic
PHISH BILL GRAHAM! Also, I have to say, seeing Tedeschi Trucks Band last night at the Hollywood Bowl was pretty damn good as well.
Definitely the Grouplove show I got to catch in San Diego a couple of months ago (likely to be topped by Hot Chip and Passion Pit though heh).
I rang in 2012 with the Spazmatics at the Chumash Casino. Best January 1st in a while. Had a lot of fun getting my 80s on.
The Rapture. Weekend #2 @ COACHELLA
Future Islands at the Echoplex! So great.
Norah Jones at Outside Lands, it was just unimaginable to see her live. Been delaying seeing something at the Bowl this year, can’t quite decide on what to see. So many good concerts.
Phish at Saratoga Performing Arts Center, 3rd Night – 7.8.12…
It will be Passion Pit at the Hollywood Bowl.
the Faint at FYF!
Oneohtrix Point Never at the Echo. I thought I’d never him live.
Sigur ros at Hollywood forever
I’m going to go with M83 back in Janurary. Haven’t had that much fun at a show in a while.
my favorite show that i have seen so far this year has been Pulp at the Fox Theatre in Pomona. I have been waiting to see this band forever and they did not dissapoint.
Phish – BGCA Night 3. Nuff’ Said.
Easy – the best show I’ve seen this year was Monty Python’s Spam-a-lot at the Pantages. Best musical concert or show I saw was last week at Palladium – Armin van Buuren with Jochen Miller.
James Blake at fyf hands down
I took my mom to see The Beach Boys at the Verizon Wireless Amphitheater for Mother’s Day. I haven’t seen her so joyful and energetic like that in a long time. Truly unforgettable.
apl.de.ap Takes You To The Philippines at the Bowl earlier this summer. It was a fantastic experience to listen to the best in Filipino music and get treated to a 75% Black Eyed Peas show at the end.
Walk the Moon at a free show put on by Pandora at the Key Club. Just another example of the great opportunities to experience great and new music in this city.
Stevie wonder at Outside Lands. I didn’t get a chance to check out Passion Pit and I completely regret it.
This is an easy one, Snoop Dogg(Snoop Lion now) and Dr. Dre closing Coachella weekend two. They played all the classics I grew up listening to and brought out so many amazing artists, one of which I believed to be dead for well over a decade. It was my first Coachella and easily the best weekend of my life. Already pre ordered my ticket for next year.
I’d have to say my favorite show so far of 2012 was Miike Snow at the El Rey back in April. I’d been a fan for years so it was absolutely amazing to finally see them perform live. Loved the lights, the crowd, the band! It was amazing!
I saw Andrew Bird at Outsidelands in San Francisco last month and I can honestly say it was the best concert of my young life. Standing among so many music enthusiasts, surrounded by giant trees and knowing I was in the heart of one of the world’s most famous cities, I felt euphoric for the first time in a long time. It’s amazing the things music can do for you.
