Full Flower Moon Band are gearing up for a major new chapter, with fresh music, a fourth studio album and high-profile live dates marking an exciting period for the Australian rock outfit. Their latest single, โ€˜Party Hardโ€™, offers a taste of the heavier direction explored on After Dark, while the upcoming record reflects a period of personal and creative change for frontwoman Kate โ€˜Babyshakesโ€™ Dillon. Adding to the momentum, the band are set to take their sound to some of Australia’s biggest stages as special guests supporting Foo Fighters in November.

In a press release, Full Flower Moon Band announced that their upcoming albumย After Dark is set for releaseย February 25, 2027.

The announcement arrives alongside new singleย “Party Hard”,ย following September’sย “Endless Summer”ย and offering another glimpse into the darker, heavier world of the new record.

Listen to Party Hard:

Beginning life as Dillon’s bedroom project before expanding into a formidable live band around her, Full Flower Moon Band has grown into one of the most distinctive names in contemporary Australian rock. Built around Dillon’s songwriting and singular stage presence, the project brings together heavy guitars, psych-rock swagger and sharp, often darkly comic lyricism.

Despite its title, “Party Hard” carries considerably more weight than its first impression suggests. Dillon initially approached the track with a sense of abandon and celebration, but the song took on a different meaning when, on the day she wrote its chorus, she learned that a fan had died by suicide.

“The chorus is me trying to inspire someone to ‘ask for forgiveness and not permission’ to live the life they want, and to the fullest. It ultimately became a more gravitational anthem than I expected.”

After Dark was written around a month Dillon spent in New York after receiving the prestigious Grant McLennan Fellowship, an experience that took her outside the familiarity of Brisbane and into a period of isolation, uncertainty and intense creative output.

Presave the After Dark album:

Back in Australia, Dillon pushed the project further by relocating to Melbourne and approaching the recording process differently from previous Full Flower Moon Band records. Working closely with producer and drummer Jim Rindfleish, she stepped away from her usual hands-on role within every part of the session and allowed the album to develop through a more collaborative process.

“Making any album, I sit inside of it. This one felt intimidating, fateful and necessary.”
Kate ‘Babyshakes’ Dillon

The album follows a breakthrough period for Dillon and Full Flower Moon Band. Previous record Megaflower debuted at #1 on the ARIA Australian Album Chart and #6 on the ARIA Vinyl Chart, selling out its initial vinyl pressing within a week. The bands audience has continued to grow internationally, with viral live clips reaching millions of views and attracting attention from artists including Fred Durst, Jack Black, Cage The Elephant and Daniel Johns.

That momentum continues this November when Full Flower Moon Band support Foo Fighters at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on November 5 and Queensland Country Bank Stadium in Townsville on November 7.
