Trey Anastasio Once Again Causes People to Google “phish reunion”

Trey Anastasio is about to head out on tour and again there’s a new chance that Phish might get back together…
A reunion of Phish? Trey Anastasio expects it to happen, though nothing has been planned — or is being planned, at the moment.
“It was exciting playing with Mike this summer because we sort of got to know each other in a way we didn’t in Phish. We spent a lot more time together, just the two of us. And when you play with a lot of [other] musicians, you really gain even deeper appreciation for how great those [Phish] guys are when they’re gone. There’s some things only they can do, and you reach a point where you want to do it with them again. So, we’ll see.” [Billboard]
I know this might have been taken out of context but it seems to be news-worthy every time he’s about to go out on tour. Seriously…
Just trying to sell tickets? Really gonna happen ever? Thoughts? Drop some comments; Trey always tugs at the heart strings…

To hear Trey say something like that makes sparks phly in my heart and put dissapointment in my head. Its like hearing someone say “Oh, well maybe, just maybe, I’ll give you a Ferrari…but if I maybe, just maybe, decide to…there’s a chance it’ll be dented, beat up, and the engine might not run quite the way you want.”
Believe me, I would live on the streets with only my trusty drumsticks and a snare drum (being a drummer myself) to hear Phish play. I just phear that if and when they do, a good while from now, it might not be the old Phish we knew and loved. The phour of them amaze me more than any other single group of musicians and have and continue to inspire me. I just don’t think it will ever be the NYE 95 we all yearn for, or anything close.
I hope that if they do decide to reunite and have one last jam-band-thirst quenching tour that they wait good and long until they know that they can give us phans the music we so badly want. I myself have never seen Phish live and only discovered their unmatched, amazing music within the past year. It has blown me away that phour people could make such phenomenal, soulful, deep music that comes so deep from the heart. Everytime I listen to their music I wish I had been born thiry years earlier for I am only 14 (but I hate the modern music scene for its lack or skill, improvisation, and depth of soul in both lyrics and instrumentals). I think I understand the art of music as much or more than the next phan and I just hope that Phish can understand it enough like they used to to be able to give us what we crave.

since i have been in 7th grade i have filled my ears and my mind to the apex with phish’s music and the phish (musical) philosophy. i ahd heard about phish many times before the times i heard them, but i never thought about what there music might be like. i realized i was forced towards them like i was a manget. i have studied the band for about 2 years now, and as i have read about what they’ve been doing for the past 24 years i realized that i should want them to come abck together again, but i should also understand the fact that they’ve tried to get back together once before, should they come back from their second hiatus, will be a miracle. the reason why it should be a miracle is because it iusn’t likely that they will. it kinda shows though that they might want to get back together, through all the times they have played since then. i was speaking someone i know and they said their room mates went to see a trey show, but the entire band (phish) came out on stage instead of treys band at the concert. i also read about how mike, trey and page have all played at once on the same stage in the summer of 2006. should they start to play more frequently with each would be amazing. i believe that its possible, its mroe then possible, but the process and the event may take longer then any one might want it to. all in all, i pray and really want that they come together again to spread their phiosophy, and feelings of music, and the music its self again. it would really be lucky. but the more positive side of it is that if they get back together again, they probably won’t break up any time soon after it. other wise, we all need them to come back.

For the past 8 years I’ve followed Trey and his companions as much as I could. I’ve also seen Phish live a few times and they have given me experiences that I will take to my grave. We can only hope that someday they will reunite and continue the legacy they started out on. They are part of this generation, much like Grateful Dead, and they need to continue to set the pathway for real raw talent. I hope and pray that they will reunite not for themselves but for the fans who miss them or never got to see what a life changing experience they can give. I miss you guys. Peace.

Dude I saw trey at charletsville with tea leaf green and personally i have never seen phish and i was like dead at the end of the show. hands down one of the best shows of my life. Right now im listenin to a tight ass moma dance thinkin of how badly phish needs to get back togethor. And yeah like if you saw the brooklyn concert they werent the best but give them time like i think trey is a good guy why is everyone hatin on him so much. He is a leader he cant change that maybe if any of you play lead guitar like i do you would know. And know that they know they can share the spotlight

Having not even heard of the until their 2004 breakup I needless to say haven’t seen them live. I’ve seen the DVDs and have the CDs but havent BEEN THERE. Many freinds and I would be more ecstatic than words could describe to hear of a phish reunion. Honestly, we all have our own opinions, but I want to know what it’s like to actually experience Phish.

After having the best times of my life at Phish shows since 88. I dont understand why they quit. None of the supposed answers make any sense. Sure everyone needs time off. We dont ask that they continue to tour year round. But why just cut us off like that. There is nothing I want more in the world right now then to see those four onstage again. I miss not having to think of what to do for new years. It was always phish. Miami is all I have to say for u people that say they lost their edge. As for Trey- he is still Trey. But for any avid phan we know whats missing. Summer, fall, or spring. PICK ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my opinion if Phish is going to reunite they are going to do a short tour not just a couple of sets. They will probably stop at all their hot spots like Coventry, Brooklyn, Thomas & Mack Center, Hampton, Madison Square and maybe even Miami again. I think Phish is one of the most innovative jam bands of our time and we need them to jam out soon as possible because if they do so much positve energy will come out of that. All we need to do is get Trey out of the trouble he just got in and get Page and Fishman and Gordo back in the scene and we will have the greatest band of all time back.

I think Bonnaroo 2007 will see 2-3 setlist of Phish. If trey,john,mike,and page are all their it is bound to happen. Superjam in 2006 was great trey,mike, and phil on the same stage almost as good as Phish, and trey with that guitair with the antilope horns that was the highlight. 2007 superjam I have this hunch that trey will be on stage and play a setlist with his band, then page, mike, and john will pop out and put on a show that will make history. Or thats how I see it in my dreams. I saw Phish 12 times favorite was the Atlanta show that sold out and i jumped the wall of Hi-fi buys and saw the whole show even the first song willson FREE, and would really like to see a bonnaroo Phish reuion mabey even all 3 nights wouldnt that be the iceing on the cake. If they do show up I would look for these songs bouncing aound the room, tweezer, mikes song, timber, ghost,you enjoy myself, wolfman’s brother,reba,runaway jim, rift, and encore with weekapung groove. Please Phish we have waited long enough stop the rumors and play the music you know we all love. Peace Andrew

I am 19 and have only seen them 5 times including Coventry which I agree was not exactly a swan song for them. Personally, I agree with Trey and his opinions that he states in the billboard article. Not to directly compare Phish to the Grateful Dead but it is a known fact that they are the only two bands is history that developed a following like they did. With something as special as that(following), in some ways your fans become your family and therefore Phish should tour until theyre old like the Dead did. Regardless of the fact that trey cannot play as tight as he used to, the energy is still there waiting amongst all the fans who anticipate or wish for a return. Maybe this longer hiatus could be a great thing for the band. Anyway, Phish’s potential return would be wonderful.

Trey is doing a great job, i think, of doing something totally different and not playing too much to people’s wishes. i think he is becoming stronger a player than ever and i think that if phish gets back together in a few, it will only happen because all four members are ready mentally and musically. last time they reunited, they werent (at least not trey). but failure is the greatest learning experience so next time, they will DO IT. and i think, after all is said and done, we will all be happier for it. jam on, musical peeps.

I sooooooo miss the days when we had to have that mail order sheet filled out CORRECTLY ( HA HA ) and the pheeling i got when the tickets came in the mail. I will admit that99 was a repeat song tour and i was tired of hearing the same but any phish is welcome back as far as i’m concerned

Hey, all i’m sayin is my last phish experience was on the floor way up front in vegas all 3 nights in 04 and I want them back so bad. I’ve lstened to every livephish offering and It’s making me fiend seriously!!!!!!! PLAY IT LEO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
