Deerhunter’s follow-up to their breakout LP Halcyon Digest will be called Monomania and comes out on May 7. The band debuted the title track on Fallon a couple nights ago (studio version also has just been released for streaming – see below). Bradford Cox, appearing like a quintessential-era punk with a wig/woman’s blouse and lacking appendages (at least for the night), and the rest of his compadres stopped by Late Night with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night to perform “Monomania” taking the live rendition all over the place and into the studio’s hallway. The tune is raw, gnashing and a perhaps a good indicator of the always-evolving Georgia-bred band’s new direction. Check it out below.
