Pearl Jam played a super long show last night at the historic Wrigley Field thanks to a major storm that ripped through Chicago while the band was only six songs into their set. Phish was playing across town at Northerly Island and they were cut short only a few songs into their second set, and even the Pitchfork Music Festival suffered a similar fate with Bjork’s headlining set being cut short to get everyone out of Union Park. But thankfully the guys in Pearl Jam were able to evacuate the field and get everyone to a safe spot in the stands, and the beer vendors kept the liquid flowing as people waited out the rain for over three hours before the band was able to return to the stage. When it was all over at 2am, the band was psyched they waited out and tweeted out a nice appreciation for the fans that stuck with them through the wait.
What a show. #PJWrigley
