The word “gifted” does not even begin to scratch the surface of how well Colin Stetson can play the bass saxophone. He has mastered the art of circular breathing allowing him to consistently exhale and defy the very mechanics of the human respiratory system. He is currently touring with violinist Sarah Neufeld and they recently played a very small, very intimate set where even they were shocked how small the 155 person auditorium was.
Colin played some select songs off his trilogy New History Warfare and relied heavy on his newest installment New History Warfare: To See More Light. Seeing him operate his over 100 year old bass saxophone with such accuracy, there is nothing short of a sense of amazement. His accompanying story before preforming High Above a Grey Green Sea was the perfect introduction to his unique musical stylings.
