One of our favorite moments of the Phish Riviera Maya run occurred middle of the second set on the first night of the run. After the band opened up the set with “‘Soul Planet” and getting into the Waiting for Columbus Halloween throwback cover of Little Feat “Spanish Moon”, the band dropped into 25 minutes of exploratory playing and journeying front to back through the Page EDM-ish tune of “I Always Wanted It This Way” before weaving into the Kasvot Växt tune “Death Don’t Hurt Very Long”.
Check out this masterpiece.
